Week in Review – August 25, 2017

Happy Friday!

Let’s get this weekly recap started!

Workouts

Just one cross training day and a 12-mile run stand in my way of finishing Dopey Challenge Training Week #12. And, I’m only two weeks away from officially starting Hal Higdon’s training plan! You guys, this is going so fast!

  • Friday: 20 minutes of walking on the treadmill at the gym and some leg exercises
  • Saturday: 5 miles on the treadmill at the gym
  • Sunday: Rest day!
  • Monday: 20 minutes of walking on the treadmill at the gym and some leg exercises
  • Tuesday: 3 miles around the neighborhood and some arm and ab exercises
  • Wednesday: 4 miles around the neighborhood
  • Thursday: 3 miles around the neighborhood and some arm and ab exercises

I plan to do 30 minutes of walking on the treadmill at the gym today, and then I have a 12-mile training run tomorrow morning. For the first time in a long time, it’s not going to rain on a training run day! I’m celebrating by heading back to my old neighborhood to complete this run. I miss my old running route like crazy, so I’m excited to be able to go back.

Experiences

My favorite experience of the week was visiting the PA Renaissance Faire. You can catch my recap of the faire here, but, it was incredibly fun!

Another one of my favorite experiences would have to be getting my hair chopped. Guys, I got 4 inches off, and I feel like a new person! I haven’t had my hair this short since I cut it for Pantene Beautiful Lengths in high school. It’s definitely different – I know this because my husband actually noticed when I came home, which never happens – but I LOVE it!

Books:

I’m still reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I read a pretty big chunk this week!

Food:

Steve and I dined at Bonefish Grill for the first time, and it was DELICIOUS! We split the bang bang shrimp, a scallop special, and a Caesar salad. We also had these fun drinks!

Needless to say, we will DEFINITELY be back!

Anything Exciting Happening Next Week?

Steve and I will be getting pizza tonight to help me carb up for tomorrow’s run, so that will be yummy. I plan to relax most of the weekend after the run, but Steve and I do want to go mini golfing and get some shaved ice at some point this weekend.
