Week in Review – July 21, 2017

Hi, friends!

It’s Friday, which means it’s time for my weekly recap!

Let’s get started!

Workouts

You guys, I just finished Dopey Challenge Training Week #6…WHAT?!?!

  • Friday: 30 minutes on the elliptical at the gym and some leg exercises
  • Saturday: 9 miles around the neighborhood – I felt great for this entire run!
  • Sunday: Rest day! But, Steve and I took the dog for a 3-mile walk to move our legs a little.
  • Monday: 30 minutes on the elliptical and some leg exercises
  • Tuesday: 3 miles around the neighborhood and some arm and ab exercises
  • Wednesday: 4 miles around the neighborhood
  • Thursday: 3 miles on the treadmill at the gym and some arm and ab exercises

I plan to do 30 minutes on the elliptical and some leg exercises at the gym today, and then I will do 4-5 miles around the neighborhood tomorrow. I’m going to take it easy for tomorrow’s maintenance run so that I can recover before my ten-miler next week!

Side note: I recently started following Gerald from Rez Runs on YouTube, and to say I’m inspired would be an understatement. PLEASE check out his channel when you get a chance. He’s really been inspiring me to continue my training! Thanks, Gerald!

Experiences

I had two great experiences this week that I’d like to share with you!

First, Steve surprised me with a trip to Baltimore when he came back from the beach on Saturday! We went to Fogo de Chao for dinner, and then we walked around Inner Harbor to watch the nightly entertainment and get some drinks.

We stayed right outside the city, and then we went to Blue Moon Cafe in Fells Point for brunch. GUYS. That was the best brunch I’ve ever had. Please just look at these pictures…

YUM!! After brunch, we headed home, but our little getaway was so fun!

My next favorite experience was tea at Camellia’s with my aunt! You guys, this was so much fun! After we arrived at the tea parlor, we were seated in a very ornate room filled with hundreds of beautiful tea pots and tea cups. The waitress asked for our order of tea (we got Strawberry Parfait and then Green Berry). She then proceeded to give us our options for lunch (the menu changes seasonally). I got the Italian wedding soup, garden salad, and an Almond Joy scone (MY FAVORITE PART). We were also given mini BLTs, olive nut on sweet bread, tomato basil tarts, cucumber melon stars, all-American cupcakes (vanilla cupcake with strawberry filling), Oreo cheesecake bites, and lavender lemon shortbread cookies.

Needless to say, we were FULL! I purchased some of the Strawberry Parfait tea before we left, and I can’t wait to drink it at home. I’ll definitely be going back to Camellia’s soon!

Books:

I’m still making my way through Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It’s a long book!

Food:

Already covered this in my experiences…..nothing else compared to brunch all week….

What are you most excited for this weekend?
