Week in Review – June 2, 2017

Happy Friday, friends! We have a relaxing weekend ahead, and I’m really looking forward to it!

Before this weekend gets started, I’d like to take a moment to recap this past week. Let’s get started!

Workouts

I had some great workouts this week!

  • Friday: 5 miles on the treadmill at the gym
  • Saturday: 3 miles around the neighborhood
  • Sunday: Rest day!
  • Monday: 3 miles around the neighborhood and some arm exercises
  • Tuesday: Another rest day – my legs really needed it, so I listened!
  • Wednesday: 2 miles with Steve and then another 1.4 on my own (around the neighborhood) – I also did some arm exercises
  • Thursday: 4 miles on the treadmill at the gym

I plan to run 2-3 miles on the treadmill at the gym today, 5 miles around the neighborhood tomorrow, and then 30 minutes on the elliptical on Sunday.

Favorites:

Experiences
Let’s first start with my favorite experiences for the week.

Last weekend, I was able to visit all four of my grandparents, which was awesome. Both sets of grandparents live roughly two hours away from my house, so I love when I’m able to see them!

So fun!

Another one of my favorite experiences from the week was seeing my handsome pup after his grooming appointment on Wednesday. HOW CUTE DOES HE LOOK?!?!

Yes….I’m a crazy dog lady…..

Books:
Next, I want to talk about my favorite reading material for the week.

I’m still reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I wasn’t able to read as much this week, so I’m hoping to finish the book over the weekend.

Food:
OH MY GOSH, YOU GUYS! I found two recipes that I’m seriously so in love with, and both are from chocolatecoveredkatie.com. If you guys haven’t checked out her chocolate chip cookie dough dip or buffalo chickpea chili, you need to try them! The chocolate chip cookie dough dip tastes JUST like the real thing, but it actually is healthy for you! It contains chickpeas! But, shhh! Don’t tell my husband! He thought I made him the most amazing treat for the Penguins games this week 🙂

Additionally, her buffalo chickpea chili is another can’t-miss recipe – it’s savory, very filling, and low calorie. We will definitely be adding both of these to our recipe book!

Finally, I also made a wonderful lunch on Monday, which I shared in my blog post “Recipe: Loaded Sweet Potatoes Skins,” so you should check it out 🙂

Anything Exciting Happening Next Week?

Steve and I have a date night planned tonight! We are going to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, and then we are going to see the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I CANNOT WAIT! I’ve been waiting so long for this installment!

Additionally, one of our dear friends is moving to Pittsburgh next week, so we plan to spend the day with him tomorrow. So far, our plans include a winery/brewery!

It’s sure to be another fantastic weekend.

What are you most excited for this weekend?
