I know that I’m a little late to the party, but I thought that I would try to dig deep into my memory to recap the Glass Slipper Challenge, starting with the Expo.
My trip started out like any other…at the Orlando Airport!
I love this sign 🙂
I went straight to the Magical Express line for All-Star Movies, and, to my surprise, there was no line!
Once I arrived at my resort, I headed straight to the expo, which wasn’t too crowded – thank goodness! I picked up my bib, race shirts, and goodie bag and then made a b-line for the official merchandise tent. In years past, the official merch tent has been an absolute nightmare – people everywhere, sold out items, and people pushing and shoving for hot-ticket items. Luckily, I experienced none of that this time! I was even able to get a Princess Half jacket that had this super cute saying on the back:
I also picked up a Glass Slipper Challenge Sweaty Band that I absolutely love (but forgot to take a picture of).
After perusing the official merch tent, I decided to take a walk around the main floor of the expo to see what RunDisney and other vendors were offering for the weekend.
Just look at these super cute Beauty and the Beast cupcakes! And, can I just say how incredibly excited I was that the weekend was themed after my favorite princess?!
After walking around for about an hour or so, I decided that it was time to leave. So, I headed up the steps to exit the Expo and saw a fairly short line for a photo op with the rose from the new Beauty and the Beast movie – which I couldn’t pass up!
How cute was that background?! And, they even had Lefou and Gaston’s costumes – so cool!
I made my way back to the resort (via Disney’s transportation system) and met up with my friend, Taylor, who had just arrived. Taylor was not running any of the races, but she came for moral support, which I appreciated!
Taylor and I decided to head to Disney Springs for the rest of the afternoon to shop, eat at Earl of Sandwich, and get some ice cream at Ghiradelli. Overall, it was a great first day!
Stay tuned for my recaps of the Enchanted 10K and Princess Half!
